Greetings, Once again the holiday season is upon us. This is the time of the year to rejoice, to reflect, and to give thanks. This time of the year also has one thinking, "Wow, I can't believe the year is already over!" Then comes the New Year's resolutions and perhaps the guilt of the over indulgence of food and drink during the holidays. Three weeks ago, on the morning NBC show, Katie Couric interviewed Dr. Madelyn H. Fernstrom as part of the "Take it Off Today" segment. During this segment, the discussion focused on Green Tea and Yerba Mate's ability to aid in safe weight loss management. While the interview was about tea in general, the segment focused more on Yerba Mate. This herb and this tea are similar. Out of 196 compounds found in Yerba Mate, 144 are also found in Green Tea. The two have natural compounds that are stimulants caffeine, theobromine and theophylline. "They are known to be fat burners," said Fernstrom. To have a Dr. of this stature speak about the amazing naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and weight loss properties that Yerba Mate has carries a lot of weight. Dr. Fernstrom is the founder and director of the Weight Management Center and has spent the last 25 years studying obesity and eating disorders. Additionally, in his November newsletter, author Kevin Trudeau, whose book is the number one best seller on the New York Times, talked about yerba mate and its weight loss properties. There have been studies over the years that support yerba's weight loss effects. Perhaps more significant, however, is our own story and the stories of our customers over the years. We have had a few customers that swear up and down that yerba mate was crucial in their overall weight loss programs. Personally, I pretty much eat anything I want. Yes, some food in my diet in recent years is probably considered not so good for me. I can claim, however, that I am lighter now than I was in 1999. In fact, there's a rock-solid chiseled physique underneath that headshot up there! You might have seen it on a few covers of Muscle Magazine. (OK, I might be stretching the truth a tad bit!) What a timely subject for this time of year. It is important when selecting a yerba mate to know what you are purchasing. We have had our yerba mate tested by an accredited laboratory. Our yerba mate was tested to have 33mg of caffeine for an 8 oz. cup. We post our numbers on our website because we are proud of the fact that our yerba mate contains more natural occurring minerals, vitamins and antioxidants than many other brands. Our yerba grows in the jungle, it is fed by the environment in which it grows, we hand pick it, hand screen it, and leave as little as a footprint as possible in the jungle. No other producer grows in this manner that I know. Weather you drink Aviva yerba mate for its abundance of natural occurring vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, or its weight loss properties, you can be assured you are drinking the highest quality, smoothest tasting, and most unique blends of yerba mate being imported into North America. We thank you for your business and wish you all a good Thanks Giving. Until next time, keep the water hot and the yerba mate plentiful....
November Special. . . Due to the popularity of last month's special, we've decided that we're going to extend our 1lb tea bag special through November. Some of you are probably sitting there thinking, "that's boring I usually buy loose leaf". Well, we're going to take our discounts to the next level and offer our loyal newsletter readers an exclusive offer. This deal is only being extended to those on our mailing list and will not be made public on our website. By utilizing the promotional code "NOV10" you can take an additional 10% off of your order! My internet consultant had to really twist my arm to get me to sign off on this one. I was afraid we'd lose money by having too many people double dip with our offers. Well, he hesitantly reminded me that people could actually triple dip this month by taking advantage of the tea bag special, the 10% off, AND the free shipping on orders over $35!! Our storefront is a great place to start!
